Covid-19 Business Support Grants: Local Authority Discretionary Grant Fund

The Government has set out the following national qualifying criteria for a discretionary grant fund. The fund has been setup to assist small businesses with high fixed property-related costs. The business will need to demonstrate that they have suffered a significant fall in income due to the Covid-19 crisis. The grant fund is only available to businesses with fewer than 50 employees and they must have been trading on the 11th March.

Businesses which are eligible for the existing Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants, Small Business Grants are not eligible.

This form is provided to capture the information required by the council to verify and make the payment of these grants.

This discretionary grant fund is being administered in two phases both will need an application form and evidence to be uploaded on this portal.

Phase One

this prioritised Shared Spaces, Regular Market Traders, Bed & Breakfasts and Charity Properties. The Phase One applications window has now closed. Any new applications will be rejected.

Phase Two

is now open to Other Businesses as detailed in the Council's Discretionary Grant Scheme

Please follow the application process below. There is a closure date of the 15/07/2020. Once the application process has closed, the Council will then process bulk grant payments to all eligible businesses.

Failure to upload Photo ID, HMRC registration and PAYE documentation, whether for the company or as a sole trader, will result in the non-payment of a grant.

Applications from people who have already received a grant will be rejected.
